(1) The Fassina Balanyà de l’Espluga de Francolí (Balanyà Distillery in L’Espluga de Francolí), the Museu de la Torneria de Torelló (Torelló Turnery Museum), the Museu de les Mines de Cercs (Cercs Mines Museum), the Museu de la Tècnica de Manresa (Manresa Technical Museum), and the Museu de la Pell d’Igualada i Comarcal de l’Anoia (Igualada Leather and Anoia Local Museum).

The great success and constant evolution of the ICTs in our society has prompted the Museu de la Ciència i de la Tècnica de Catalunya (mNACTEC) (Science and Technology Museum of Catalonia), with the five museums (1) of its Territorial System and in association with the Catalan Government (Generalitat de Catalunya) Department of Education, to produce, with the support of the Spanish Foundation for Science and Technology (FECYT), the Big Bang Game, an unusual, innovatory activity which combines a series of virtual games related to the history of the universe and aimed at a young audience. It is timed to coincide with Astronomy Year.
After the success of the Big Bang Game in 2009, this year we decided to take a step forward and create Big Bang 2.0, which will be available from September 2010. The novelty will be the use of social network tools as a fundamental element of the project, as they will enable us to hand on scientific knowledge more directly and accessibly.

The project, which has combined the virtual part with another one requiring attendance, consists of a game of clues for schools in the six big bang museums. It has been carried out thanks to the cooperation of museologists, educators and ITC experts, and its purpose is to hand on scientific knowledge in a playful style through an interactive internet platform, a powerful tool which has enabled us to reach the whole of Catalonia and the entire population. There have been a total of 15,000 visitors, 22,406 matches and a total of 2,890 players, which has fostered relations in the internet surfer community.
